However, I know that coffee is not the healthiest stuff out there. So, though I don't feel anything wrong with my health yet, I decided to go easy with it. From three mugs a day, my coffee consumption is now down to a mug a day.
When I'm in the mood for it, I also drink the instant kind with cream and sugar but for me, the most satisfying cup of coffee is black and strong with a touch of sugar.
My boyfriend gave me an automatic drip brewer last Christmas and since then, I have discovered my preference for brewed coffee. I know that using an automatic drip brewer is not the best way to brew coffee but this method works for me well.
Furthermore, I don't have a coffee grinder so I just buy pre-ground coffee beans which, again, may not be the best way to do it but works for me just as fine.
So, boyfriend and I were grocery shopping one day when this coffee brand was introduced to us by a friendly salesperson at the store. There were a variety of blends to choose from but she was quite partial to the Maynila Blend. She said, and I quote, "This is the coffee served in Manila Hotel". Since the brand I regularly buy was out of stock, I decided to get this instead.
I think this coffee is a great everyday coffee and I will definitely buy it again. I will surely try their other *hazelnut* blends too.
I also researched about Gourmet Farms online and learned that their products are organically farmed and processed in Cavite. The company also have a restaurant called 'The Dining Room' where the menu is prepared using their organic produce. I made a mental note to visit this place someday.
I think it's nice that they are introducing organic products in the local market at a competitive price and helping local farmers at the same time. With that, I am very happy to discover this brand of coffee.
