Whenever I visit Daiso, I always end up finding something to add to my collection. This time, it's this: Both the mug and the lid are made of glazed ceramic. It is thick-walled and I think, the actual amount of liquid it could hold is around 8 oz. Though it will be nice to cook some mug cakes on it, it is not microwave nor oven safe. I guess, this mug will be perfect with some red velvet hot chocolate. Yum!

I've been wanting to have one of these pincer tea infusers for the longest time but I can't seem to convince myself why I need one. I mean, I can just use my personal teapot if I want to brew some loose leaf tea at home. And in the office, I can drink bagged tea instead. With that, I felt that this kind of tea infuser is unnecessary. But then, my subconscious must really want me to have one of these 'cause it has found a way to make me feel that I need it (my subconscious will make a good salesman, I know). We'll you see, though I can have tea in the office anytime, there are times when I really need some nice and strong coffee. Sadly, we don't have fresh coffee in the office; we only got the instant kind together with some sugar and powdered non-dairy creamer. As much as I want to, I can't bring my own coffee maker in the office, so I thought of an alternative in the form of this tea infuser. I always wondered why we don't put coffee in small bags and steep it like tea. Is coffee not meant to be submerged in hot water? I don't think that's a problem -- French presses submerge ground coffee in water and they say it is the best coffee brewing method. Furthermore, certain coffee like turkish coffee and kapeng barako are actually prepared by boiling the ground coffee beans in water. With this logic, I decided to get one of these spoon tea infuser to 'brew' (or steep) coffee with in the office. Looking at it closely, I had a strong feeling this brilliant idea of mine is not gonna work. Still, I tried... ...and failed. :(
I guess this idea might work if I have a coarser grind of coffee. The coffee I have right now is for drip brew use, so it is finely grinded. If I am to push this idea, then what I need is a mesh infuser. Well, my subconscious got me through 'false advertisement'. Still, I think I will have this infuser handy if I am to bring loose tea in the office. Do you have any of these tea infusers? What do you think of 'tea-bagged coffee'? Please give me some insights on the comments below. - Krissie It is really nice when you find something you have been looking for. I just had this mug pinned on Pinterest recently, then I saw it. I did not expect to find this mug because it was released back in 2007. In addition, I have not seen this mug on my previous trips to Krispy Kreme. But then, when I decided to help a friend have her Krispy Kreme stickers, I saw it on the shelves. So, why is it called 'Surprise Mug'? Well, take a look: It's New Years Eve and I am using this mug for the first time. In the Philippines, it is a tradition to wear something polka-dotted so as to attract good fortune for the new year ahead. The circles symbolize coins, and in extension, money. Though I do not strictly follow this tradition, the polka dots on this mug really suit the occasion.
No doubt, it's so cute. However, I realized that it's kinda hard to completely stir sugar on my coffee without my teaspoon clanking and banging on the donut. Nevertheless, its thick ceramic walls keep my drink warm for long. I like this mug a lot and I look forward enjoying more beverages with it. And before I forgot, Happy New Year everyone! - Krissie I am the kind of person who feels uncomfortable when colors does not match or, at least, complement each other. With that, my things are usually the same shade of the same color. As you know by now, I have an automatic drip brewer in hot pink. I had been looking for a hot pink mug to match it for quite some time now to no avail. Most of the cups I see at the mall are made of plastic and the ceramic ones are usually pale pink. Then, on my most recent trip to Daiso, I found this: A glass mug with a hot pink handle! It's like it was meant to go with my coffee maker. The search is over!
- Krissie As I was checking my cupboard, I noticed that I have a couple of coffee-themed mugs but none for tea. I may sound like a nerd but I'm a sucker for labels. I like matching my drink with my cup, so I was surprised that I don't have any mugs that say tea on them. So, when I found these mugs featuring Martin Wiscombe art at the mall, I didn't hesitate to get them. I've been eyeing Martin Wiscombe crockery online for quite some time now. It is actually my dream to have my own cafe that uses mugs, teapots, coasters, placemats, trays, etc. with Martin Wiscombe art on them. I love the retro/vintage vibe it has. That's why I was so happy when I found these mugs at the mall. It was indeed an unexpected find. Now, let me show you these babies: I've tried using these mugs and they were perfect, not to mention I feel like I am already three mugs ahead in achieving my dream cafe.
What can you say about these mugs? I hope I can hear from you in the comments below! - Krissie Are you enjoying the sweater weather just yet? Me too! Furthermore, the cold weather makes me in the mood for hot chocolate lately. So, as I was out restocking my hot chocolate stash, I stumble upon this: Being a big Swiss Miss fan, this is a great find! Of course, I had to try it as soon as I got home. I ♥ this mug! I look forward enjoying more hot beverages in it as the weather becomes colder and colder.
What do you have in your cup? Let me know in the comments below. - Krissie This one's another surprise from le boyfriend: Dunkin' Donuts Philippines ran a promotion wherein you can get a mason jar for Php 55 when you purchase of a dozen classic donuts, DunkaBoodle or a Big Bunch. I was not able to do measurements but I think it holds about 16-18 oz of liquid. So, I had donuts. I had a mason jar. What more could I ask for? - Krissie
Let me share with you something that caught my attention at the department store. You may be wondering what's so special about it. Well, you see, this mug looks like this mug from Royal Albert: It may not be as expensive as a Royal Albert mug, but it is as classy and beautiful and I'm sure it will serve its purpose just as fine.
I can't wait to have some tea on this newest addition to my collection. - Krissie I haven't quite recovered from my excitement over my donut bag when my boyfriend gave me this: I know that me fan-girling over donuts borders on being alarming but I can't help it! This pillow is so cute! I decided to bring this with me to the office. Isn't it nice to hug a donut? - Krissie
This post will have more than the normal number of exclamation marks because I am so excited! Look at what my mother made for me: I saw a very cute donut-shaped coin purse on the internet and asked my mother to make me a bag that looks like one, and she delivered! She also made me a coin purse as a bonus! The bag is big enough to carry my cosmetic pouch, phone, coin purse and iPod. Perfect for strolling around the mall.
Want to have one? Please check my mother's online shop at www.facebook.com/loveheartsbags. What do you think of my donut goodies? Let me hear you in the comments below! - Krissie |
